That person thought I didn’t handle a situation right. I could see it in her eyes. Is she upset with me? Ugh. I feel uncomfortable. Why do I do things that could make people upset with me? Why am I in this situation again? Self…Am I In Drama?

Can you image what would happen if everyone stopped and asked, “Am I in drama?” before continuing :

the drama

the fictitious storytelling

the deep diving into the ‘what ifs’

or,

the adrenal rush that comes from suspecting that so-and-so is purposely sabotaging one’s life?

Drama is choice because it is only information that comes into one’s ears and circulates in one’s brain where it is processed. It is choice to deem that information is bad, good, or neutral.

So, self…am I in drama?

This simple question leads to freedom, self-directing empowerment, and a lessening of drama’s grip for future interactions. The more we all ask, “Self…am I in drama?” the more we train ourselves to shift into drama-less living.

It’s a major reason I won’t watch, read, or listen to any source of drama. The heaviness and the grungy feeling are immediate when drama comes close. I literally feel it in my body.

On the other side of this topic, I can literally feel in my body freedom, self-directed empowerment, and a purposeful path to enlightened living when drama stays far away.

Being a person of society – meaning I live among people so drama happens vs. someone who lives alone on acres of land with little or no human contact – so yes, drama occurs. It is still choice. It is always my purposeful choice. It’s anyone’s choice!

BUT, it sneaks in. Unsuspecting, it comes in the backdoor. At times, it appears seductively as fun and tantalizing information. No matter how it exists, it is still choice. It is still disrupting of freedom, self-directed empowerment, and purposeful enlightened living.

That’s why asking, “Self…am I in drama?” is so important.

Drama is disruptive.

Yes, it is disruptive so disrupt the disruption. Interrupt the interruption of freedom, empowering, and enlightenment. End the drama trauma!

Yes, this week I was in drama. (And, why I’m writing this article!) But, I caught myself. It felt awful in my body so I caught it early. I literally heard, “Self…am I in drama?”

Immediately, I knew: yes.

Then, I had choice.

I pulled in my resources (communicated with a friend), created a way forward, and resolved the situation. My personal forward movement depended on…

Catching the drama

Asking “Self…am I in drama?”

Creating paths to resolve the drama

Moving forward/taking inspired action

And, then feeling the relief in my body

Drama comes to help us.

Is this statement believable for you? Drama is our ally? Friend? Helper? You’ve got to be kidding!

Yes, it actually was helpful for me. By dealing with the drama, I found my forward movement. The drama helped me. It was the catalyst for me to get beyond the drama. Thank you, drama!

Stop the sources of drama from entering . The world is filled with drama. It is your drama? The global situations…are they yours? Are you adding to the drama thus making it bigger? Do you talk, ponder, or write about the global drama?

books, author, teens, parentsBring on your personal freedom, empowerment, and enlightenment (en-lighten-ment!) by choosing to end the drama trauma. Then, you’ll be adding onto the global freedom, empowerment, and enlightenment and making these states of being bigger. (Hint: it’s what is really awesome and desired.)
