As a parent with a child in-house, May was just crazy busy: end of season performances, track and field day at school, and everyone-was-conceived-nine-months-prior birthday parties.
As a teacher, May was just crazy busy: school-wide testing, end of year activities, and finalizing the school year paperwork.
Now – as a parent of a grown child and as a retired teacher, May 2025 is proving to be crazy busy!
Why?????
The amount of ink splattered all over my calendar – yes, I still use a paper calendar every year – is simply amazing. The boxes reserved for each day are filled. Each box has something notable written in it.
I step back and look at the calendar splayed on the kitchen counter. Amazing. Just amazing.
In the back of my mind, I hear the floating heads on the bus from one of the Harry Potter movies say, “It’s going to be a bumpy ride!” along with the ensuing and somewhat ominous laughter.
Taking a deep breath and flip the page to June. it’s rather empty. I look forward to June’s calmness.
I remind myself to take each day as it comes and to keep time for meditation.
In 2025, my quiet time has become so precious to me. Way more precious than ever. A deeper appreciation for it brings me back to my meditation chair and “nest” time and time again. I love the space I’ve created.
My meditation area has taken several years to develop, several evolutions, and several dustings for me to get to this point that no matter what is happening, I need to have quiet time on a daily basis.
Good grief…because if I don’t, I feel it. What drives my life? The calendar or my Soul? Dates and places to be or my divine connection to Source?
Important questions, yes?
In the midst of your May chaos, how do you ground yourself?
- Calm yourself naturally?
- Bathe yourself in the goodness of Life?
- How do you connect with your version of Divine Source?
- Find your balance in all ways?
- Recalibrate your stability to NOT be on the rollercoaster?
Both are needed in life: the calm and the fast-paced moments.
Balance is a word that is often used…in just about every segment of society. It’s plastered and used all over the yoga scene. We may be tired of reading it and hearing it, but it needs to be on every roadside sign.
Can you image the world with most of its inhabitants finding their balances? The animals do it. Why can’t we humans have more balance or even a lot of balance? While we’re at it, let’s go all the way to all people on the Earth prioritize self-balancing.
Instead of Ahhhh! Why Is May Always So Busy? Now, it’s Ahhhhhh! May is wonderful!
It’s a matter of priorities. This is your call to balance. This is your reminder to find balance or quiet time on a daily basis. Your calendar will look so much better.
